The EULETA External-Speaker Training Series features speakers who are experts in their fields and external to EULETA. The talks are on topics which are connected to our work as legal English teachers and which help our continued professional development.
On Wednesday 15th November 6pm - 8pm CET Robert Gibson will be speaking on 'Communication and beyond - trends in intercultural competence development'.
About Robert Gibson's talk:
Language teachers have long appreciated the importance of relevant cultural knowledge for their students. Although communication is a vital part of intercultural competence it is important to go beyond communication and look at a number of other intercultural factors. This interactive presentation explores current trends in intercultural training, in particular how to go beyond national stereotypes and embrace a range of diversity dimensions. It will include discussion about how to relate the ideas presented to the world of Legal English.
